ASSIGNMENT 3: MICRO HOUSE PROJECT

This assignment is a group work based assignment, which we have to select the layout, title block, materials and furniture from the lists by discussing about it with groupmates. The second part of this assignment is to propose
a single storey micro house project based on the information that we have established from the groupwork. At the same time, 5 drawings ( site plan, floor plan, 2 elevation views and section view ) have to be produced.

WEEK 1

After the assignment brief, me and my teammates had a meeting to discuss about Task A: choose layout, draft out title block, choose materials and furniture. We chose the materials from Internet sources, while furniture had been chose from Ikea and other websites. After the discussion, I drew title block for each drawings.

WEEK 2

In this independent learning week, I started off my draft with floor plan first, which I think is the hardest part in this assignment as I have to put all the materials and furniture in it.

WEEK 3

In week 3, I drafted site plan and both of the elevation view.

WEEK 4

During week 4, I drafted section view. In addition, I added the gridlines, dimensions and details for previous drawings.

WEEK 5

During the final week, I inked my drawings and added the details on it. After the final touch up, I compiled my drawings with the information I discussed with my groupmates.

LIFELONG LEARNING

As this final assignment timeline is 5 weeks and it has a huge workload compared to previous assignment, a good time management is required to complete all the drawings before the due date. Other than that, even though is a micro house project, I was able to keep engaging and have a positive mindset to finish this assignment.

COMMUNICATION SKILL

To start off the assignment, we have to discuss about the preparations with our teammates. I felt glad that me and my teammates can share our thoughts and cooperate well during the meeting that speed up our progress.

This final assignment allows me to focus on my time management and enhance the speed of learning new things. Some techniques and drawing conventions may still not familiar, but after this assignment, I was able to explain what am I drawing and the importance of drawing in terms of communication before goes into degree programme.

DISCIPLINE SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE

After the lecture class that teach about introduction to drawings, the importance of drawing convention, etc. I understood well and applied it into my assignment. Although it's a bit similar to assignment 2, this assignment has a larger workload and more things to learn.
